Regular attendance and being on time for school is essential to a child’s academic progress as well as acquiring good job skills in the later years. Attendance and punctuality are part of the Department of Educationpromotional standards. Poor attendance can lead to grade retention. Elementary schools are required to maintain a 95% attendance rate.
